Climbing
The centre has lots of great routes set by a variety of route setters covering grades from 3 to 8b+ (using the French grading system). Routes are set in rotation with one or two well loved lines staying in place for longer.
Route lengths are from 8 to 15 metres depending on which wall they are on.
There are top ropes and lead lines on all walls and a handful of lines without quickdraws for leading without preplaced runners (Quickdraws may be hired from reception or feel free to bring your own).
Central Climbing Wall
Everyone’s favourite, the centrepiece of the climbing centre is packed with great climbs, slabs, angles, overhangs, bridging, corners, arêtes, overhanging arêtes, its got it all. Lead routes on the monolith traverse between lines as well as going direct.
Traversing Wall
Eight routes, four for kids, four for adults from easy to very hard with a fab break in the wall to navigate past or over. It’s perfect for getting into climbing, building technique and warming up and cooling down.
Back Wall
There are two opposing overhangs and a sloping edge. The top section offers head wall exposure and a high crux can really put you out there. There’s one top rope route, two lines without in-situ quickdraws and the rest are lead climbs.
Side Wall
The side wall is about 8 metres high and has more corners over hangs and slabs. It is a good place for novices to get to grips with climbing before getting on to the taller walls and offers more experienced climbers shorter frequently more technical problems.

Challenged by our Grades?
Then challenge us to change them. Having your say about our routes, grades, technical issues or things that you want us to take into consideration in the development of the wall will help us to become the wall that you want, which is obviously in all of our interests. We do listen!
